The Travelling Trooper Hikes Poon Hill (Day 2)

We had another 800 metres to climb today. The hike wasn’t nearly as bad as the first day though. Things leveled off after the first thirty minute onslaught of stairs. I also reverted to my Kili training and took it very pole pole.

Today was also nice because the trees provided some much-needed protection from the sun’s heat. It was a beautiful cool walk.

Another thing I remembered from Kili: Chocolate. Chocolate is to me what spinach is to Popeye. From the second day onwards, I bought myself a pair of Snickers bars everyday.

We made it to Ghorepani, which has an elevation of 2675 metres, in four hours (a full hour ahead of schedule!) and were greeted by this view.
